Scott's Thoughts #5 - Welcoming Andy Toomey to the blog...explanation and disclaimer.

About a year ago, I was contacted by Andy Toomey, before I even started this blog and my reviews and spotlights were 100% on Facebook, asking if I would review his EP with the Stick Men, "Perseus Calling".  Since then, he and I have stayed in contact online (never met IRL), and we have struck up a friendly relationship.  When I decided to start this blog in May of 2025, he was an early supporter.  Since the first review, I have reviewed 2 more of his releases with Markus Reuter and others, "Masterpiece" and most recently his amazing new album "Crank".  Andy has shared some ideas with me on how to make the look of the blog better, particularly in making it more readable on mobile phones, etc.  I found that my technical expertise was lacking in that area, so I asked if he would be willing to volunteer to help, as he has a background in IT.  He agreed and is on board, and you will see him listed on the home page. However, I want to make some things clear:

  • In no way, shape, or form, will this arrangement affect my impartiality of my reviews, his or otherwise.
  • Andy is NOT involved in any of the written content that is posted, that is still all ME.  Andy is here, at my invitation to help with technical aspects of the site.
  • Neither of us receive any money or other compensation from these articles, with the exception that I am often sent audio files of albums in advance for reviews.

So, I want to thank and welcome Andy publicly for agreeing to help.  I hope everyone will do the same and understand my reasoning for inviting him.  Andy is a man of many talents, and I appreciate him sharing one of them here.
