Scott's Thoughts #3: 5,000 Blog Views! - Insights.
So I was very happy to see that my blog has now had over 5,000 views as of this morning; thanks! This is a milestone for sure. To mark the occasion, I decided to share a few stats and insights.
Insight #1 While I have gotten all those views, I only have nine subscribers. I am not sure what it will take to entice more of my visitors to sign up. To be clear, neither I nor the service I use for subscriptions will share your email address with anyone! I removed the ads to make it a better experience. I don’t send more than 2-3 emails a week on average. Maybe I need to tweak the look a bit? I know Andy Toomey gave me some suggestions that I need to look into. What do you think? Comment below.
That leads me to insight #2, only two comments have been posted, and one of them is mine. I would sure like to see more.
Insight #3 a few stats!
My most viewed post, by far, is my tier list of the Top 100 Prog Artists of All Time from a Prog Magazine Poll where I rank the artists from the list as per my preferences ... .I might need to post more of those!
The second most viewed post is my Introduction post, which pleases me that many visitors are reading that one.
The most viewed album review is for IQ’s “Dominion” with PrYzme’s “True Stories…and Other Lies”, and Moon Letters’ "This Dark Earth” close behind.
My most popular Spotlight post on the blog is the one on Triumph. Although it is considerably lower than the most popular reviews. I truly enjoy the spotlights, though, so I will continue to write them! The Windmill and Beardfish are the next two most viewed Spotlights.
I only have one post with no views at all: the review of Haken’s “Fauna”. Although my spotlight on them has a fair amount of views and the review of “The Mountain” has a few.
My ultimate vision for this site is to make it a destination where people go to learn about different artists and their music. I want to benefit the reader as well as the artists I have chosen to write about. That is the reason I always include the “Links for Listening” so that the reader can go check the music out and make up their own minds, whether or not they agree with my assessment. I want to see what people think about the music and artists I have written about by posting comments. I am hoping that this site will become a bit of a community of music fans, particularly those who are interested in prog, who will share their thoughts and opinions, respectfully, of course.
Please share YOUR insights about my blog by posting a comment. I hope you’ll subscribe and share my page with others who may enjoy it! Thanks!
